Are the contents of the boxes the same each week? No. Each week in the Freshstart or Booster boxes you will receive the staples such as potatoes, carrots, bananas, tomatoes and apples, although the varieties may change. The rest of the box will be filled with seasonal produce which changes slightly each week. The Family Meat Pack changes weekly.

Are you able to make changes to your Freshstart boxes? Absolutely. Once you become a regular Freshstart customer, we are happy to customise your order. After your first delivery you will receive a brief survey requesting likes and dislikes. Then whenever you place an order via text message or email, please advise of any special requests you may have for that week. We are always able to substitute an item with more of something else.

Where does the produce come from? We aim  to keep food miles to a minimum. All produce is purchased at Rocklea Markets on the morning of your delivery. The produce we purchase is from local Queensland producers, unless quality is compromised in which case it will come from other Australian growers. Our meat comes directly from the producers in The Freestone Valley.

How do I place an order? You can place your order through our online order form, via email or simply reply to our weekly text message.

When should I have my order in? All orders should be placed by Monday 4pm for the Tuesday delivery to ensure enough time to organise the purchasing of the meat, seafood & produce. If you need to place a late order please call Sandy ASAP on 0438 762 163 as we may be able to accomodate a late order from time to time.

Do I need to be at home for my delivery? No, all Produce, Meat, Seafood and Milk are packed in styrofoam eskies with the meat, seafood and milk packed on ice in a seperate esky to the produce to maintain the cool chain if you are not home. Some customers choose to leave their own eskies outside for the cold goods to be packed into on delivery.

What is my delivery day? You will receive your order on a Tuesday.

What time is the delivery?  Deliveries will be made between 2.00-8.00pm depending on the suburb you live.

How much is delivery? The delivery fee is $4.40  incl GST to all areas of Brisbane to Beaudesert and surrounds. This fee will be waived for orders over $100.

How do I pay for my delivery? Payment is by COD, cheque or direct deposit within 7days. We are currently reviewing the option of adding credit card facilities.

What is cryovacing? Vacuum packing or cryovacing is a method of storing food and presenting it for sale. Meat is stored in an airless environment, in an air-tight pack to prevent the growth of micro-organisms.

Why is the meat discoloured? Due to the removal of air, some products, particularly sausages, mince and rissoles will have a slightly brown colour. This is completely normal and once the bag is opened, the normal bright red colour should return.

What should I do if the seal has gone? Unfortunately, no matter how high the quality standards are, there will be a small percentage of bags which don't hold and leak. This does not mean there is anything wrong with the product, but we advise that it be eaten or frozen rather than left in the fridge.

How long will the meat last in the cryovac? There is no simple answer to this question. If products are packed under perfect conditions and maintained at the optimum temperature, studies have shown products to be perfect after three months. However given the variable temperature of your home fridge we recommend that all meat purchased from Freshstart Food and Freestone Fresh is consumed within TWO weeks of purchase, when left in the fridge.

Will freezing affect the product? Freezing meat will allow you to safely hold your products for extended periods. It will not affect the eating quality or food safety of the product as long as the defrosting process is handled correctly.

How is the meat delivered? The meat is cryovaced and packed into styro eskies with ice.

When is the meat delivered? The meat is delivered with the rest of your Freshstart order on Tuesday.
